La Chouette Bleue

We'll let you work out the meaning behind the name "La Chouette Bleue". The "bleue" is obvious from the photos of our dream French holiday home....la Chouette not quite so.

La Chouette Bleue is a 3 bedroomed converted barn, that sleeps up to 8 people, full of character both inside and outside. It has a games room, with things to keep you occupied if the weather is not great. There is a family bathroom plus separate shower room, as well as two toilets. A large open plan kitchen dining area and living area complete the set up.

Everything will be provided to make sure your holiday goes without a hitch, including bedding, towels and toiletries.

There is Wi-Fi and a spare laptop to help you browse the internet to plan your next day out.

All we ask is that you replace anything you use with something of a similar type and that includes the wine.

You will need to bring your own toothbrush and other personal things.

Outside in the back garden, feel free to enjoy your very own pétanque track. Mind you, our lovely French neighbours may well challenge you to a friendly game but will probably bring wine and aperitifs to share whilst you play.

Whilst at the front, there is a large patio and separate BBQ / pizza oven area to chill and enjoy the peace and quiet whilst enjoying a glass or two of wine.

Pauliat Haut

The hamlet of Pauliat Haut is situated approx. two miles from Aubazine where you will find cafes, bars and restaurants as well as the bakery for your morning Croissants and Pain au Chocolat.

There are various supermarkets in nearby Malemort-sur-Corrèze, Brive-la-Gaillarde or Tulle (Super U, Géant, Lidl, Auchan and E.Leclerc) for that big shop to stock up on your first day.

We will try to make sure that there is always tea, coffee, milk and bread in the house just in case you forget to stock up or arrive too late.

There are also various delivery vans that visit the hamlet during the week; listen out for them honking their horn.

There are a fab group of neighbours who I'm sure will pop in to say hello, don't be surprised if they invite you into their homes for aperitifs....very traditionally French and a great way to practice your French as the wine starts to take effect.

Is there anything we could do better?

This is our first venture in owning a holiday home and whilst we want to make you feel at home from the minute you arrive in Pauliat Haut, I'm sure we will have forgotten something or may not have everything you need.
